Our year of birth determines our adult number / personality, with the date then revealing our child number - giving 81 possible combinations. Each number is also linked to one of the 5 elements, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.
Each year is governed by a different number - the Oriental year beginning on, or about the 4th. February - and the numbers are sited on a grid known as the Bagua, or Magic Square. In February, the numbers change position in a predetermined fashion, so that over the course of any 9 year period, each number will visit each smaller square. Each square presents different challenges and lessons, and using 9 Star Ki we can gain invaluable insight into both past, present, and future patterns, and how we might best adapt our behaviour to suit our circumstances.
As each number and element relates to particular organs, we can see which are most likely to be affected by stress, as well as recognizing which emotions are most likely to be stressful for us. Guidance can then be given as to how we might prevent, minimize, or handle stress to best effect. We can also use 9 Star Ki to look at relationship dynamics, and at which are the most / least auspicious directions for travel or moving house.
